Bring Snacks - Good food is hard to come by

Miscellaneous: My friend and I weren't very satisfied with the food we found around the island. It just didn't taste as good as we were used to in the united states, so we ended up not eating much. Therefore, I'd recommend packing some of your favorite snacks, maybe even some breakfeast food (i.e. cereal, cereal bars, etc.) because food is pretty expensive over there too.

Hiking in the rain

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You will need walking shoes if you want to go hiking on Basse Terre.

And always take an extra set of clothing in your car when you visit the rain forest. It POURED when we were there and a K-way or an umbrella make absolutely no sense when it's coming down in bucketfuls!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: SUNSCREEN! with high SPF. Because of the 'alizés' you don't feel that the sun burns so hot but it does, even under the shade of a palmtree!

Luggage and bags: Put a back pack in our luggage.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Altough a tooth brush and a bikini seems enough (or a mono-kini since we're on the subject), be sure to bring good walking shoes and raincoat for your hike in the mangrove. I didn't and I regretted it!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sun lotion and maybe insect repelent for the night.

Photo Equipment: Polarizing filter will do amazing thing for you here

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take your 'chapeau colonial' and a good humour. You do not need nothing special in Guadeloupe.
