Philipsburg, Saint Martin by Fam_Stoica Philipsburg is the capital of the Dutch part of Saint Martin (St. Maarten). There are two commercial streets (Front St. and Old St.), a port where major cruise ships disembark two millions passengers per year, a long beach, restaurants, administrative buildings, a post office and an university. Philipsburg fills a narrow stretch of land between Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond. Founded in 1763 by John Philips, a Scottish captain in the Dutch navy, it soon became a bustling center of international trade.
The offer on Front St. is fabulous : tons of diamonds and other juwelleries, electronics (especially camcorders and digital cameras), clothes and beverages, all of them at very attractive prices (the island is a tax free zone and you can obtain excellent discounts). Leave a Comment

Marigot, Saint Martin by Fam_Stoica Marigot is the capital of the French part of Saint Martin. The French atmosphere is overall present : lovely streets, nice houses with gingerbread decorations, boutiques and restaurants. Don't miss the Marina Royale or a superb view from Fort Louis. If you want pristine white beaches and outstanding snorkeling or diving opportunities, check out Sint Maarten/St. Martin. Orient Beach on the French side is the nicest beach.

The beach and water at Orient Bay are wonderful! The sand is white and soft, and the water so clear that you can see your toes!
One afternoon, I saw a group of people standing in the ocean, looking down. I waded out, and saw they were feeding bread to the fish. One person handed me a slice, and I dropped crumbs into the water. I was immediately surrounded by many brightly colored fish. Leave a Comment

inside the ship strike up the band room by rw-bigfoot, 3 more photos Inside the strike up the band lounge we watched one of the shows here awful more than one person talked about the chubby girl dancers they had. One of the young men couldn't even start to left his partner off the groundand most only lifted them a foot off the floor just awful it was like waiting for one of the young men to fall with those chubby girls. We didn't go to any of the other shows one was a wizard and and showed in the photo a little devil like creature on his shoulder and then another night was a fortune teller? Awful shows then the last evening from the end we watch a Barbara Strisand and Frank Sinatra dou that was very good but they told off jokes that was not too well liked by the catholic/jews/christians.
