One of St. Maarten's most established restaurants, L'Escargot is a favorite destination for those craving authentic French cuisine. Seafood is a specialty, of course, especially lobster, grilled red snapper, and Dover sole. You'll also find steak, duck, chicken, rack of lamb, and frog's legs. Escargot can be prepared in seven different ways, and the creme brulee is award-winning. Terrific French wines and a weekly cabaret performance are additional perks. Located in Grand Case (French part of the island), La California offers a superb view of Grand Case Bay.
Local seafood is excellent and I strongly recommend : Mahi Mahi fillet in mango and ginger sauce, fresh salmon fillet in basil butter and merou fillet.
Other dishes : grilled beef tenderloin, frog legs in garlic butter, shrimp and scallops in saffron butter, pork tenderloin in caramel sauce, lamb chops in garlic cream sauce and rack of lamb topped with goat cheese.
For desert : delicious crepes like sauteed apples in a crepe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream

This food is to die for! We regretted most of our restaurant trips because this food was soooooooo good! I would reccommend ordering from this service throughout your entire trip. The food is expensive but worth every penny. If you don't believe me, order the Ham and Brie sandwich. It will melt in your mouth and have you craving for more!! Be sure to try lunch first, you won't be sorry.

This restaurant faces out onto the marina in the lagoon. Very nice setting, especially for people watching. It's outdoors but covered mostly by a nice awning.
Food is great - mussels are terrific if they came in on the flight from France that day. Salads are also huge and amazing.
It's a casual atmosphere.

You can sit inside but, I'd suggest sitting outside to do a little people watching and also to feel the wonderful breeze.
La Vie en Rose is just wonderful for it's seafood. I had a tropical Mahi-Mahi that was like nothing I've ever eaten before. I promise you - I'm not bad for an amateur chef and I've never even come close to this meal. Located in Philippsburg, The Greenhouse is a nice place to have a casual lunch or dinner, with a full bar, pool table, video games, and is right next to the harbour. At night, this is a hangout spot for folks wanting to meet others on the island, and just hang out having great drinks, food, and coversation (unless the music's playing too loudly!) for the evening. Toujours prıs de la Place du marchı, il y avait un resto ou l'on faisait cuire fruits de mer et steaks sur le BBQ en plein air. ıa sentait bon partout. Le premier souper ı St-Martin a donc ıtı trıs bien. On a pu prendre une biere et relaxer. La bouffe ıtait bonne, tout comme l'ambiance.
A cette occasion, on faisait aussi connaissance avec nos hıtes pour la semaine.

Hard Rock Cafes are all pretty much the same. I collect H.R.C. t-shirts. The food is good, though. I would compare it to T.G.I.F. in a lot of ways.

The staff was what made the difference for me. All of the waiters took me in as their friend. Ricardo, was the gregarious host. You can't miss him.

This restaurant in Grand Case has the most amazing atmosphere. Arched windows open to the crashing ocean waves just below, making for a wonderful dinner ambiance! Food is great, and not too pricey for a nice dinner. Leave a Comment
