With the 20th century church of the head and trees offering shadow in front of it, the Place de l‘Église is the real centre of Sainte-Anne. Here you’ll find most of the banks, the public library, the Post Office, some café’s and some other shops where you can find all necessarities. At the corner of the square you can also take the busses towards Saint-François, Pointe-à-Pitre or Gosier.
All day long the square is full with people. Youngster hanging around in front of the library, old people hiding in the shade of the trees, and always some people waiting of the next bus to arrive. Sitting here, watching the people passing by already gives you a complete different view of the town; no tourist activities here, but just the life of the locals.

This is the most popular with the local people and with tourists and it’s the most centrally-located beach in Sainte-Anne, also known as Plage Municipale. You’ll find it along the eastern part of the Boulevard Georges Mandel, there are clear signs that will direct you there.
The beach offers great, clear water that is always warm and welcoming and it has both a lot of space in the sun and in the shadow. Along the beach there are small restaurants and bars where you can get your refreshments and of course you’ll also find the salesmen over here trying to sell you a necklace, a “beignet” or a palmtree that they pulled out of the beach tree metres further.

This is definitely the prettiest beach in town. It’s located at the westside of town, at a 15-minutes walk from the centre. To get there, you need to follow the Boulevard Georges Mandel for about 1,5 kilometres and then turn left when you get to the first “Boulangerie” after the Cemetary. Follow this road and you’ll end up in paradise...
Officially this beach is property of Club Med, the French holiday-giant. However, the beach is open for everybody, as long as you’re not using the hotel facilities like the sunbeds and the watersport facilities. Here at Plage de la Caravelle you’ll find a fine-sand beach, with turqoise-blue water in front of you, palmtrees and catalpa-trees all around and at least in the low-season you’ll have all the space you need!
Only annoying thing here is (when you’re a woman, not in my case) that the ever present salesmen can be pushy, rude and stubborn. As soon as there is a man around, just tell them he’s you boyfriend or husband and they’ll back off.
