I know the owners pretty well of that hotel, it's close to the middle of town; the water problem is due to the municipal water is only on for part of the day. I usually stay with family in tecpan but you can't beat the location to the market. President bush stayed there on a tour of Guatemala. I'm pretty much family with just about all the butchers...more
Nice and clean, the food is very good. You can stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff is outstanding and very friendly. I would have to say the omelets were my favorite, you see I missed omelets so much this was all I was pretty much ordering. And this place had the best omelets.more
Favorite thing: I enjoyed walking the trails that lead to different areas at the archeological park. The views of the surrounding valleys are wonderful and panoramic. Do bring sunscreen and enjoy your stay.

The people of San Juan Comalapa have chronicled their history and suffering in mural paintings on the cemetery walls at the entrance of their city. My wife's mother perished in the earthquake here in 1976, so there are sections of the murals that were really emotionally touching to us.more
This church located at the main plaza, is a beautiful example of the colonial architecture with indian touch, the church was badly damaged during the 1974´s earthquake, and is closed waiting for a restoration, a new church with no interest was built beside the cathedral.more
