This huge Olmec heads can be seen exposed in the Parque Central (Main Plaza), some of them weighing upto 5 tons. The Olmec are pre-columbian people and flourished from 1,400 bce to about 400 bce, there´s a theory that said that these heads are pre-Olmec (so Guatemala was the origin of this culture not Mexico) but it´s not proven.
