It is a 30 minute flight from Guatemala City to Flores. Flores is adjacent to Tikaul. Tikaul is the site of the spectacular Mayan ruins. A must see in Guatemala. All I can say is : wow. It is best as a 1 day trip. Fly in in the morning, see the ruins in the afternoon, fly out at night and be back in Guatemala City to sleep in your own bed.

Unique site. Avoid weekends and holidays as the narrow road gets busy with cards and so it is dangeours for hiking/bicycling.
The tower in Guate resembles the Eiffel tower somewhat. Not nearly as huge its still a nice structure to view and photograph.
Its not a must see its more like you cant miss seeing the gallo iconography everywhere you go.
The newer part of the city is more modern and safer.
