The backpacker bar is located just beneath the bridge that crosses the Rio Dulce. It is the one local spot which tourists may find friendly and safer. It is a happening place twice a week and most come to dance.

This place is run by volunteers form the whole wide world, and serves to collect funds for the orphanage "Casa Guatemala". The personin charge is Angie, ans it is certainly a good place to visti to eat, drink, or hang out.

A: I have never been to either, but I can mention that what I have heard about both suggests that Rio Dulce would be more pleasant as a base.

Don't have a ton to say about this place as i didn't spend much time there. came in from poptun with the express interest in seeing the Golfete, which i did. caught a bus out at 1am to Guatemala city...

The jungle around Rio Dulce is the spot where, according to the local people, the first Tarzan movie with Johnny Weismuller has been filmed. I don't whether this is true or not, but believe me ---......
