I always try to find the best cheapest, local hole in the wall restaurants in each village/town I travel to. Well I definitely found one in Livingston. Actually, there will be a very dark guy with dreads standing in the street next to the basketball courts as soon as you come up from the boat. He is kind of the "welcomer". He will ask you if you need help finding a room, restaurant, etc. Ask him for rice and beans. He should turn left onto the small street next to the basketball court. I cant remember the name, but it is on the left side of the street. Absolutely the best beans and rice you will ever eat. She makes it with coconut milk. And it is very cheap. Give the dark guy a small tip for the recommendation, and tell him it is from the guy he warned "next time I come to his village, to spend more money". He should know who you are talking about.

You'll find a few "comedores", small cheap restaurants, in Lívingston - go to the ones at the basketball field! Don't be fooled by the fitting up (plastic chairs, a fridge and a kitchenette), just order the Rice and beens.

Favorite Dish: For under 2 dollars you could get a dish simply called Rice and beans, consisting of rice, beans, chicken or fish, fried banana, salsa, sallad, tortillas and a soda to that. Above all - it's delicious...
