Loved this restaurant, the way it’s set up… with all the Uruguayan artifacts, dozens and dozens of pictures showing the locals what Uruguay is like.
It’s one of the only high-end options I’ve seen in Xela… a perfect place to dine out with your couple.
You should start with some home-made ‘chorizo’ (sausage) and the Uruguayan cantina-styled ‘medio y medio’, a perfect mix of aged rum and sweet vermouth. For the main dish, go for the ‘parillada’ with some tannat wine, you won’t regret!

WE CAME TO A THAI RESTAURANT AFTER A HARD DAY'S CLIMB UP SANTA MARIA VOLCANO AS WE FANCIED A CHANGE AND I MUST SAY, THE DISHES THEY SERVED WAS WELL PRESENTABLE. THEY'D GIVE YOU A BIT OF RICE AND OTHER SALADS ON THE SIDE TO GO WITH IT.
THIS LITTLE RESTAURANT IS WORTH A TRY.
IT OPENS TUESDAY TO SATURDAY FROM 12PM TILL 9PM.

The Baveria International Coffee House or Bavaria Café is a great place for a drink and a snack.
Favorite Dish: I had the iced coffee with milk (8q) and Priscilla had the vanilla milkshake (15q) and a piece of pineapple pie (12q). The milkshake especially rocked!

The restaurant has a great selection of pizzas and Italian food and has a great location near the park.
Favorite Dish: We had the medium verdura pizza (veggie pizza) for 45q and almost couldn't finish it. We went back in the evening and I had the tiramisu (15q) and hot chocolate (7q) and Priscilla had a cappucino (7q) all of which were delicious.

Q: How do I get from Guatemala City (where my international flight arrives) to Quetzaltenango?

A: there are frequent busses between the two cities. not always the best, but at least they are quite adventurous.
