There are some nice bars in Antigua. My favorites are Las Chimeneas ( the oldest bar in the city). Ricky´ s (A place for meeting travellers) Mono Loco (the typical American Sports bar).. for good music...The La Casbah Disco....And a new place La Sala (Latin live music)...nicely decorated.

Wondering what to do on tuesday night?
Gotta go to Mono Loco's ladies night, where all the ladies will be enjoying the Q3.00 (US$0.38) drinks!!!
they have coconut rum, vodka & Naranja, Raspberry and lemon drinks.
The cover for the guys is only one drink (Gallo beer Q15.00 (US$1.90)) only!!
And if you are hungry, try the famous nacho mountain for Q25.00 (US$3.20), I bet you cannot finish it!!!
Dress Code: Antigua is a relaxed place, here there are no dress codes, so enjoy!!!

Don't miss the amazing Friday night performances at Buena Vista de Corazon. It's the same band that plays at Ricky's on a Weds night, but this venue is SO much better, has a great dance floor and you can really appreciate the band.

Address: I think it's on 7a Ave Norte, but not certain.
A great place to go dancing, especially on a Tuesday night (prob not the best hotel to stay in on a Tuesday night...). If you like salsa, you'll get some really amazing partners to dance with and learn loads. Best to avoid the embarrassingly drunk backpackers who turn up after Monoloco and think they can dance. Women - even short women like me - should avoid wearing heels to dance in as you'll be taller than almost every Guatemalan man there!
Women travelling on their own, should not turn up here drunk as it's just asking for trouble. Don't leave the bar with anyone, unless you know and / or trust them.
Dress Code: Anything you can dance in.

This spot rules. The two girls and two guys that worked here were super friendly. Cheap drinks. Cubre Libre 8 Q and they have many specials. It is across from Le Merced on corner of 6th Avenida Norte and Alemeda Santa Rosa. Very laid back, cool people, nice scene, good music. Recommended.

This place served the hugest margarita's ...I think they are better than the food . We had burritos's and were a little disappointed ...kind of small servings .
The place is lively though ( no wonder with the amount of margarita's they serve)

A FOOTBALL THEMED BAR, LOS ARCOS RED'S SERVES NUMEROUS DRINKS SUCH AS COCKTAILS, TEQUILA, BACARDI, BEER, AND NON-ALCOHOLIC COCKTAILS. YOU CAN COME HERE AND PLAY POOL OR JUST SIMPLY RELAX AND WATCH THE FOOTBALL ON SCREEN.
THERE IS ALSO A BOOKSTORE, A TRAVEL AGENT, AND AN INTERNET CAFE WITHIN THE PREMISES.
THIS BAR IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL EUROPEAN AND LATIN AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEIR FOOTBALL. ANY AMERICANS OR CANADIANS WOULD HAVE TO GO ELSEWHERE AS I PRESUME THIS BAR MIGHT NOT BE THEIR THING.

ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A CLUB, KASHBA IS NICE LITTLE SPOT TO CHILL AND DANCE. I WENT ON A THURSDAY NIGHT SO I CAN'T REALLY SAY MUCH ABOUT IT REALLY EXCEPT THE MUSIC THAT TIME PLAYING WAS 80'S STUFF AND SALSA.
BUT AS FAR AS I REMEMBER, YOU GET A 1ST DRINK FOR FREE ONCE YOU HAND IN YOUR TICKET AT THE BAR.

Antigua has an amazing nightlife, that last until the wee morning hours!!! Although bars close early (around 1am), there are always people handing out flyers for after parties. My suggestion is "Naughty Angels". Yes, a cheesy name, but its a great place to wind down the evening!

The Rainbow Cafe is a book shop, an Internet cafe and a restaurant and bar rolled into one. They have a Happy Hour on a Saturday, two drinks for the price of one. With no school the next day, why not spend Sunday nursing a hangover?
