As in any famous festivity you´ll find a lot of tourist´s (local and foreigner), but forget that and enjoy one of Guatemala´s most authentic festivities. You´ll see so many diferent type´s of local costumes as in Totonicapan or other remote markets, not so easy to reach.

Most of the design of the kite´s are indian themes (Kakchiquel), and political matters as the acuerdos de paz (peace agreement´s); this year´s theme. Usually they take more than 2 months to design and make these colorful kite´s.

Well I hope they drived out all this year bad spirits, i really enjoy this celebration, and remember if you want to see this festivity you have to come the 1º of November.

The whole town is a party, there are music everywhere, and a lot of local stall´s with food and drinks.
