euzkadi Says: As in any famous festivity you´ll find a lot of tourist´s (local and foreigner), but forget that and enjoy one of Guatemala´s most authentic festivities. You´ll see so many diferent type´s of local costumes as in Totonicapan or other remote markets, not so easy to reach.
euzkadi Says: Well I hope they drived out all this year bad spirits, i really enjoy this celebration, and remember if you want to see this festivity you have to come the 1º of November.
Time for music, food and drinks...
euzkadi Says: The whole town is a party, there are music everywhere, and a lot of local stall´s with food and drinks.
euzkadi Says: Most of the design of the kite´s are indian themes (Kakchiquel), and political matters as the acuerdos de paz (peace agreement´s); this year´s theme. Usually they take more than 2 months to design and make these colorful kite´s.
euzkadi Says: It´s a holiday in Guatemala, most of the local people visit the cemetery to bring flowers to their deaths, they eat in family around the graves, and see the fly of the kite´s.
