This festivity takes place the 1º of November, time to visit the cemetery and to drive out the bad spirits through fliying kite´s. Then it´s time to eat, drink and dance. I found Sumpango (even when is less colorful) more authentic than Santiago, less tourists and more local people.

Most of the kite´s designs are religious (Catholic), indian (Kakchikel) or politicals matters.

There are different sizes and designs of kite´s. Made of paper these colorful kite´s are huge, usually takes up more than two months to design and create them.

Sumpango is another Kackchikel town, located 42 kms from Guatemala city, and as in Santiago Sacatepequez, they also celebrate the All Saints day fliying kite´s to drive out the bad spirit´s.
