There is a colorful cemetery in Sololá. Many of the large tombs are like miniature houses. All of these above ground tombs are for Mestizos. (Mayans have to be buried underground.)

Tuesday is market day in Sololá. It is incredibly crowded and very busy. The vendors are set up on streets adjoining the plaza, which was full of people. Happy music was coming from loudspeakers in the plaza, and the whole thing was very festive.

So far I've just seen the city of Sololá from the bus, coming from Xela going to Panajachel. - Gonna be back to have a closer look.
