Favorite thing: If you plan to spend the day at Tikal bring a packed lunch as the food available at the site is not good and overpriced. To gat decent food would be hiking back to the hotels, which is a waste of time. Mid afternoon find a shady spot away from the hoards and dream of Mayan worlds, your imagination should have been well fed.

Favorite thing: Temple IV
Fondest memory: My fondest memory is getting up at 5:30 am, in the dark (no power) and hiking through the park in the dark to get to the top of Temple IV for sunrise. Reaching the top of the Temple and looking out over the jungle canopy I heard howler monkeys for the first time. Wow!
