The best to get to Tikal is by plane. A short 25 minutes flight from Guatemala City to Flores. Also you can reach Tikal from Belize, or Can Cun.
From Flores airport you can get one of the tourist minibuses to the National Park of TIkal. 1 hour ride.
Or you can visit Tikal by road, a 7 hours ride from Guatemala city, with great views of the rain forest jungle.
