Witchdoctors rule~!
The witchdoctors in rural Haiti have ALL power. There was even a western hospital nearby that validated the fact that people who were declared officially dead were later seen walking around aimlessly (zombies). If you want to be safe as you travel, make sure the witchdoctors accept your presence. This particular guy near Dechapelle, Dieu Perre, was extremely friendly. He gave us a tour of his home and explained as well as he could about his life/experiences (obviously all in Kreyol). He seemed like an intelligent, well-rounded man overall.
