While on a mission trip with Ventures In People I was able to walk to the Mirage on a Friday night for a bit of people watching at the local Hotel/Lounge/dance hall. The DJ played familiar music as well as Haitian songs. The dancers were very smooth and professional at times. Line dancing, electric slide, and Flaminco dancing was seen. There was a strobe light and colored flashing lights in operation which were turned off later in the evening for a while.
There was a second room between the large dance area and the rest rooms where there was no light (completley dark) where couples could do private dances. My daughter said the local Haitian men were very smooth and sexy dancers. Many Haitian men are looking for "easy pickups" and ask to be a lady's boyfriend for the night if no man is in sight near her.
