I'll recommend to rent a car and go, the road is rather good. If you are coming from Port-au-Prince, going to Carrefour is probably the least enjoyable part but if your car is air-conditionned it shouldn't be too painful. The best thing to do is to leave early(5-6am), so you don't get caught in too much traffic jam in Carrefour. You can also take the plane to go to Jacmel but if you do so you will be unable to buy fruits on your way back.
