Get to know one another: Friends and Family Time

by cpette27

Make sure you bring plenty of table board games to play with your friends and family at night.Bring games like cards, dominoes, arts and crafts, etc. Some nights we sat around a wooden fire in the back yard and tell stories and sing. Some nights we sat together and watch a movie in the guesthouse. Some night we just sat down, talk and get to know each other. Dress casually except for Sundays. Bring your Sunday best.

The Pool Bar: Tropical Libations Poolside

by cjg1

The Pool Bar was one of the busiest Bars on the ship during the day. Being in the prime location right next to the pool; the crowds gathered. We only went to this bar once during our trip; we prefered to utilize the waiter service and have our drinks brought to our lounge chairs. The bar has a nice selection of martinis, mixed drinks, frosen specialties, wine, beer and soft drinks. They make a good Mango Dacquiri and a Miami Vice; very refreshing on a hot day at the pool.

Drinks with a View: Sunset Bar

by cjg1

The Sunset Bar is one of the outdoor bars on the celbrity Silhouette. The bar is located on one of the top levels behind the Lawn Club. The Bar has a ton of comfortable seating; couches and chairs. My wife and I enjoyed this bar when we wanted a less crowded place with a nice view. We enjoyed a few Dacquiris here as we pulled into Labadee.

Columbus Cafe Bar: Frozen Tropical Drinks Beach Side

by cjg1

What could be better than a frozen tropical drink beachside..... The Columbus Cafe Bar in Labadee was the perfect place to grab a Dacquiri and enjoy the beautiful beach views. My wife and I enjoyed some of their frosty strawberry dacquiris after a nice swim; quite refreshing.

Barak, Hotel Oloffson, click 123: More and more options

by dunearn20

Barak is a possibility after 10 pm, but there are far too many UN soldiers around there.Thursdays you MUST go to the Oloffson to hear RAM playing, a unique haitian band in a setting worth going for.The Regency is a very local music / dance place, a bit special and less for foreigners.Presscafe is nice aswell.

My favorite nightlife activity included going to the disco. I had the opportunity to go to 2 different discos in Petionville. One is Caramel and the other was called Crystal PalaceDancing in Haiti is a different expericence than in the United States. My advice is to bring a Haitian person to show you the moves.

I went to a few bars in Petionville, but these seemed frequented by Americans and Europeans who were working in Haiti. The nightlife for these Expats as they called themselves was quite hopping. Also, if RAM is still playing at the Hotel Olofson, check them out. They are Haiti's native band and very popular--the place is jam packed with Haitians and foreigners. In any case, you should check the hotel out anyway as it is the setting for Graham Greene's novel, 'The Comedians,' which takes place in Haiti and gives one an interesting if a bit skewed version of Haiti during the days of Papa Doc.
