A street in Tela

This is us returning from the beach. You can see a typical Honduran pick-up truck and the style of the buildings. Also, on the side of the roads are the large drains. Be careful not to drive or fall into one!

Honduras is prone to heavy rains and floods. I was "lucky" enough to experience one of these floods when all the streets in Tela were awash with water. These drains became a real hazard as it was impossible to see them when you were walking through the muddy water.

I have had the unfortunate experience of being held at knife point on a beach in Tela. I was young and dumb and there at night. My advice to you all would be to stay away from the beaches at night. I was lucky I was with someone who could talk us our would be robbers out of doing anything stupid!!
