  • Of course, one shoud visit the pyramids - this is what Copan is all about. The money machine of the local torism board has deftly divided the ruins and most of its artifacts so people would have to pay twice9there is a museum). Security of the objects explains to certain extand this policy. The bizzare subdivision of separating the visit of the pyramid site from the visit of the interior of the structures is a classical example of double dipping though.
    One can spend the money in a different way - a local cowboy approached me right on the grounds offering horseback riding. For the sport-inclined pyramid buffs this is a healthy alternative.
