San Pedro Sula Things to Do

The Cusuco National Park is a place very few people know including locals from nearby city San Pedro Sula. The place is great for outdoors fans that want to experience real exploration expeditions. There are countless waterfalls, trails, etc. There's huge potential for some awesome hiking, mountain biking and climbing. Plus the most exotic fauna and flora! I recommend JungleXpedition for this trip... the guide is awesome! Dont miss it if you come to Honduras!

San Pedro Sula Restaurants

  • Great Sushi

Sorry, as of 2012 Bonsai is closed. Try either of the two Sushi Ito locations instead.Bonsai is a place I visit frequently when I am in San Pedro Sula. The sushi is always fresh and I always eat vast amounts of it. This is a two-story restaurant with exceptional service. Try the Titanic sushi boat- it is enough to fill up any party of four with a...

  • Best Sushi In Town

This place is the best Sushi available in San Pedro Sula. It is extremely authentic (you take your shoes off at the door and sit on the floor) and the sushi is extremely fresh and delightful. The only drawback to this place is the price. It is probably one of the most expensive restaurants in Honduras. This original review was written long ago and I...

I can't believe that Pat's Steakhouse has not been mentioned yet!?! I am confident that as soon as experience this local favorite you will be posting more great reviews for this restaurant. I read in Frommer’s that it is one of the longest family owned restaurants in Central America. One sign of a truly great restaurant is its ability to put out a...

  • A quaint and relaxing wine bar

Although I have called Deriva a wine bar it is actually more of a restaurant than a wine bar because while they have the probably the largest wine selection in San Pedro Sula it isn't the same thing as what those of us from the USA consider a wine bar. Most of the wines are Argentinian and some Chilean and US. The food is mostly Italian with a...

  • Trendy and Delicious Sushi

Sushi Itto is a new sushi restaurant that brings a trendy atmosphere to sushi in San Pedro Sula. With water running down the outside wall to the sunken tables with funky chairs and the sliding bathroom doors this place screams contemporary Japanese dining. The sushi and sashimi was fresh and tasty- not the best I have had but certainly good enough...

San Pedro Sula Warnings and Dangers

  • Guns

I own guns myself, but the number of them that I saw in San Pedro Sula made me concerned about my "prospects for the future". My first time out on a Sunday night a money changer was kind enough to point out a nice Chinese restaurant where I could get a meal and a beer. Until then I had never been to a restaurant that keeps the doors locked from the...

  • Don't take the side streets

If you do decide to go out at night, stick to the main roads, even in a taxi. It is the side streets and neighborhoods where most of the gang violence is. Also, always ask the cab driver how much your ride will be before getting in the cab. And try to negotiate, they will always try to overcharge just because you are a 'Greingo'. Hondurans think...

  • Going out at night

It is not a good idea for a Gringo or tourist not familiar with the city to go out partying at discos and bars in San Pedro Sula after dark or late into the evening. If you are going to go out, go to a restaurant and go back to your lodging after you eat.Crime is on the rise, while tourists are not always the targets of crimes, you can't be too...
