Flowers Home

This is one of the nicest homes we had seen on the island. It is sort of a landmark for the point in Flowers Bay. Check out www.roatannet.com for details about renting this place for a week or two. The views are beautiful in the morning.

The house: For sale

The house: For sale, Flowers Bay

TinKan Says:  This is the type of homes that are for sale on the island and the views are beautiful. Some one will have a great bit of land and wake to some of the most beautiful sunrises found on the island. Glad that a good person like UWCAVEMAN got it and is now hooked on Roatan and...

Warnings and Dangers

Iron Shore

The Iron Shore

This area is known as the Iron Shore due to the coast line being made of Lave rock.

Be careful while walking or swimming around the area as the rocks are very very sharp. During the high tides you will find a hole or two filled in with sea water which makes for a natural "hot tub".

Bug guard

Miscellaneous: When traveling around anyplace that has mosquitoes and other biting insects like sand flies it is best to arm yourself to the teeth with bug guards of some sort.

Skin so Soft is sold by Avon and works real well to keep the little buggers from biting you and Cactus Juice works as well.

Cactus Juice can be purchased online at www.cactusjuicetm.com or you can find it on the island in the local shops.

Cactus Juice also sells an “after the fact” cream that will take the itch away and sooth the sunburn as well.

Flowers Church

Flowers Bay it self is a little off the beaten path as there is no paved road and the dirt road that is there does not go anywhere.

The town does not have any real industry and is made up of small homes around the bay. The loacls here are very friendly and we found them to be most helpful when called upon for assistance.

The church seen in the picture is one of the oldest on the island and has been used durring bad storms as a shelter.

A home for peace

Favorite thing: We were hoping that this would be our new home in Roatan. This picture was taken before the remodeling and new paint was done. We decided that it was not right for us as it was not on a sandy beach so we purchased a home in Sandy Bay.

The house sits on the south-west part of the island on the Iron shore and has a great price. The land is very nice with loads of sea grapes and trees and the views of the sea and coast line are awesome.

It is called the iron shore due to the lava formations that make up this part of the coast. There are very few sandy beaches near here.

Fondest memory: We like the isolation of the area and the lack of neighbors. UWCAVEMAN is going to make this his home now and we are happy about that. I know he will enjoy the sunrise and the local neighbors in Flowers Bay.
