TGI Scuba diving center

A PADI 5 Star Center which opened in 1999 and offers courses from Discover Scuba through to Assistant Instructor and a wide variety of specailty courses. The instructors speak Italian, English, French and German. There is also a personalised video editing room.

TGI will organise two diving excursions a day at 9.00 and 14.30. There are regular night dives on Thursdays or by request with a minimum of 4 persons. Discover Scuba is free for everybody in the village. For the non divers we have many watersporting activities.

The diving program includes diving in the open water with Dolphins and the PADI Dolphin Diver Specialty Course as well as the Shark Encounter at the Cara-Cara Point and the PADI Shark Specialty Course.

The diving excursions to Barbareta includes a visit to the marvellous Cayos islands (small coral islands) situated South of Roatan.

Starfish

The water is so warm that you do not really need a wet suit but you should bring one just in case you get a bit chilled.

No gloves are allowed as you should never touch the reef. Remember the reef is a living thing and the reef should be protected.

Check the other tips for all of your diving needs.

There are many dive shops on the island that can help you get into diving and once you do you will not want to do anything else.

You can rent gear there or bring your own.
Some classes even provide you with everything you will need to enjoy the under water world.

Dive boats

At AKR you begin you SCUBA life by taking your first discover scuba class or if you are a certified (and we are all certifiable haha) diver already you can take a specialty class in Advanced open water, Rescue, Underwater photographer, night diver or one of any of the other classes offered by this 5 star PADI center.

You can even do you IDC here if you want.

And you can do it all at your own pace with great PADI instructors.

Coconut Tree Divers

Coconut Tree Divers in the heart of West End is one of the most popular dive shops in Roatan. Their shop is located on the main road in West-End at the entrance to town. West-End sits in Half Moon Bay, a white sand, palm fringed paradise which is excellent for swimming and snorkellers. You will find some of the world's best dive sites right out their doorstep.

They have all that you will need for days of underwater fun.

Scuba diving can be fun if you have a buddy to dive with. Dion is my dive buddy and best friend and if a very good diver so I never have to worry (much).

Always plan your dives and stick to the dive plan.
