Flying in seems to be the best way, but the descent on approach can be interesting. The pilot may have to fishtail the plane into alignment with the runway as there are mountains all around, and it's a hard place to land it. The landing is interesting. Just a few days after we arrived in The Goose (Tegucigalpa), an American Military plane) probably a C-130 landed, but didn't stop in time and ran off the end of the runway, I think killing many onboard. Wake up call, there! I think I also remember plane scraps at the end of the runway.

Wealthy of Tegus trying to get away for the weekend are likely to drive the nacional highway south to the Pacific Coast, which takes just a few hours. This road is subject to many problems though as seen in these photos. But, it's also a beautiful drive.
