We found all the normal tourist places closed by the time we got to dinner, which was around 8pm on Christmas Eve. However, down the street there was a restaurant with a rotisserie of chicken outside that appeared very popular with the locals. We had no choice but to dine here in this dimly lit restaurant with lacquered Honduran mahogany tables. We were served bottle drinks, and a plate of Honduran tomales were brought for us to enjoy while we waited for the chicken to finish cooking. We watched the Spanish television version of Wheel of Fortune on a black and white TV. After an hour or so, the whole chickens were brought in, and locals started appearing for their take-out orders. We then, enjoyed some chicken. This was good place for us to appreciate Christmas the Honduran way.

Located almost at the entrance of the village, Restaurante Don Juan has a nice terrace, which displays the town's scenic views of the mountains as well as the town itself. It offers delicious grilled meats seasoned with a house BBQ sauce that is out of this world. The owner speaks English very well. Apparently the ambience as well as the flavorful dishes keep his customers coming back for more. Excellent dining place for a romantic getaway!
Favorite Dish: Parrillada is my favorite dish. It is the surf and turf plate served with beans, rice, salsa, avocado, and plenty of tortillas. The barbeque sauce gives the meats a distinctive sweet yet spicy flavor.

Though El Anafre serves typical Honduran food I chose pizza, which was enermous so I was able to eat only half of it and I asked the waitress if I could take the rest with me. At first she looked very surprised but did what I asked and I got the rest in a bag. The waitress was really nice so I tipped her and she seemed to be very happy to get my tip! I sat at the outdoor table and looked at local people going by.

Cheap and good food for the price. You can seat at the tables in the sidewalk or you can wait until they get you a table inside the small restorant. It is located rigth in the downtown area of the valle de Angeles small villa.
Favorite Dish: Plato Tipico ( carne, chorizo, frijoles fritos y arroz ). y una buena cerveza hondurena como una Port Royal, Imperial, Bahia o una SalvaVida
