Utila. Mermaids Corner. This is buffet style, so you can select whatever you want. I liked it because the food was very good and inexpensive. This is the place to go if you're in a hurry, because the food is already prepared. But don't be in a hurry. This is Lee and Antoinetta, from London and Italy in front of Mermaids Corner.

Utila. The Zanzibar restaurant is a very friendly and laid-back place for breakfast and lunch (they close at four. Some of the colorful locals also eat there. They have great licuados (they call them milk shakes). The small size is pleanty big for most people. I played and sang there a couple times. This is Elizabeth and Ranier, from Nederlands. They have great licuados (they call them milk shakes). The small size is plenty big for most people.

In La Ceiba, Expatriates bar and grill. Favourite spot for the local English speaking crowd. Informal with pleasant atmosphere. Satelite TV.Too many to list.Taste and price. One dollar (US) for a plate. Try a local place 'Pollo Marlon'!Chicken, you've never tasted it like that.

Riquisomo.

Expatriates Bar & grill, in La Ceiba, is a casual roof-top restaurant/sports bar, Canadian owned and operated, with a friendly local English speaking staff. It has a good selection of domestic and imported beers, outdoor-grilled foods, reasonable prices and a large screen tv so you don't miss a thing. However, the best restaurant in Honduras, also in La Ceiba, is Ricardo's. You can get Kansas City-quality beef, fresh seafood and desserts to die for.Ricaro's has a less casual atmosphere than Expat's (no tv screen or baseball caps), but is a favorite of the locals and those who miss finer dining. Try Ricardo's Filet Ricardo, a melt-in-your-mouth beef filet with a spicy sauce that my husband orders every time we are there. I prefer the seafood dishes and have never been disappointed with my choices.

My favorite restaurant was 'The Bite' in West Bay on Roatan Island. The people who work their are very friendly- the cook even grilled tuna we caught while on a fishing trip. They don't take credit cards and they are only open a few days a week. The menu changes daily- we had so much great food I wouldn't know which item to pick!
