One of the girls breaking it down on the beach by Heavens-Mirror, 1 more photos Every Tuesday at the Starfish Trelawny hotel in Falmouth where i stayed they had Beach parties. They start at around 7pm where you can enjoy a buffet meal on the beach with some beers and cocktails then at around 8pm they bring out the dj and everyone from the hotel and some locals join in for a fun night of partying and dancing on the beach. They start off with competitions where you get into two teams then have to do silly tasks which are really fun when you've had a few drinks. Then they do dancing competitions aswell and you have to take it in turns to "break it down" as they call it in Jamaica and impress the crowd with your dancemoves. I enjoyed watching all the locals dancing along the ocean and really impressing the girls with there moves.
Casual, bikinis, swimwear and shorts aloud aswell as going barefoot on the beach too. Theme: DancingAddress: Falmouth Beach, JamaicaDirections: At the Starfish Trelawny

This is the place to party when visiting Jamaica. All the Jamaicans recommend you go there at least once during your stay. Me & my Auntie Sue went 3 times... i really enjoyed it in there. The music was great, the people were friendly, and the drinks were a reasonable price. When you first walk in theres a lady who gives you a shot of something for free to get you in the mood! It has a mix of people, lots of local Jamaicans aswell as tourists from England, USA, Mexico and allover Europe. It has a lively atmosphere and exciting entertainment to suit everyone. It has an open air bar upstairs and downstairs you can enjoy a drink and watch others dance or simply join in with the fun. It was fun watching the locals get up and dance on the bar to the Reggae music. Anyone visiting Jamaica should go here and enjoy at least one night out.
Casual dress, most people tend to wear shorts, flip flops, trainers, vests etc. No need to dress up in heels like i did the first night i went.... i was far too hot in them.

Me & my Auntie Sue at the Street Party by Heavens-Mirror, 1 more photos Whilst in Jamaica i wanted to see the real Jamaica and how the locals like to really party at night. So one night some Jamaican friends i met took me & my Auntie out to a local street party. The party was rammed with loads of people, loads of booze and of course clouds of ganja smoke and lots of loud music and everyone was enjoying themselves. The speakers were as big as houses blasting out Sean Paul, Sizla and anything else you could think of... so you could imagine how loud the music was. It was great to experience some real culture and watch people dancing to the Reggae all night. Even children were there dancing away and they were pretty good dancers too. Drinks were really cheap, bottles of Red Stripe was only 1 US Dollar and you could get 7 bottles of Heineken in a bucket for only 10 US Dollars. At the end of the night you could buy yourself some jerk chicken, rice & peas and red pea soup for only 3 US Dollars... it was a nice treat after a few beers! So if you ever go to Jamaica make sure you give a street party a try.
Anything you want to wear.... wear it. Casual dress mainly. Theme: DancingAddress: Ask any Jamaicans....they know them all

by Pawtuxet The police were friendly and unobtrusive. But on one very dark night when my husband and another man were coming back from town, they encountered a road block...police with machine guns. Rather alarming. There must have been political unrest or some other event taking place which we were unaware of. The men were allowed to pass, but told to go to their villa and stay there. by diver-x We asked around everywhere to find out where the best reggae was and all the locals said Roots Bamboo. Roots Bamboo is actually a hotel with cottages and camping. They set up a stage on the beach and the reggae starts sometime after dark. The audience is about a 50-50 split between locals and tourists and the music is good!
Come as you are. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: Roots Bamboo is on the north/east side of Seven Mile Beach. Just keep walking until you find the music. If you've passed Margaritaville, you've gone too far.Website: http://www.rootsbamboo.com
