Be very careful when you go...

by Tiny_Tina

Be very careful when you go out at night. The tourist spots near the resorts are okay but the Jamaicain dance clubbs can be dangerous if you're a young woman. The dancing there is very erotic and the music is wonderful. If you're shy, this kind of dancing isn't for you. The men will swarm around any woman, so if you're with someone, stay clos to them. Don't leave with any Jamaicain Men! Nothing too dressy or risky. Just a causal hawaiin shirt for guys and tank tops for girls.

Margarittaville. This bar is no more than a 12 minute walk from Jack Tar. Whats great is that Jack Tar has some affiliation with the bar that all guests of Jack Tar get into Margarittaville for free & on some nites there is a shuttle to & from the bar. There is food & great music. During the day you can slide down from the top of the bar into the water below. There is 2 floors to this bar. The 1st floor is the dance flood with a DJ. This bar gets going around 11 pm. Summer attire.

Have a cocktail!: Have a cocktail!

One of the aspects of the all inclusive resort is the ridiculous amount of liquer at your fingertips. The tropical drinks abound and if you're a beer lover, try the local brand- Red Stripe Resort casual

by Steve-H

Most of my evenings were spent in Pablo's bar in Belmont ( Westmoreland, near the Peter Tosh memorial and right next to the sea ) There are some dances in the evenings at various locations, we went to one at a bar on the beach and had a great time, but generally everything is low key and laid back, friends get together and relax over a few cold beers or the delicious island rum, share a smoke and tell tall tales - of course if you are in a resort then your choices are limited but its your call, enjoy!

Dress code for nightlife is the same as for beach; shorts and t-shirts, bathing suits with sarongs. I rarely wear anything else. Pack LIGHT!!!! Don't bring a sweater and wear your sandals on the plane. If you plan to go horseback riding you'll need to bring jeans and sneakers.

In Negril, there's a party on the beach every night when you can have a drink and dance to some reggae. You'll hear about them through word of mouth...or you can have Spaceman tell you what's going on.

Eden II: Can't remember the name of the disco, but it was located inside the hotel. Theme night everynight. This particular night was role reversal (or, dress as the opposite sex). Can you see my ex-husband with a blue dress on? Yeah, he looked kinda funny.
