Make sure you attach something bright to your luggage so you recognise it easily at Montego Bay airport as we found it a nightmare trying to find our cases as they all looked the same.
Bring some sensible shoes to wear for Dunns River Falls... you have to do alot of walking and climbing so a good pair of shoes is needed for this.
Bring all your own toiletries as it is quite expensive in Jamaica. The only thing i found to be cheaper than at home was the Hawaiian Tropic Sun Lotions and Australian Gold. Bring any tampons/sanitary towels with you if you need them whilst away as there not as good as the ones at home.
You can buy disposable cameras and underwater cameras in most shops in Jamaica but if you have a digital camera you can buy the memory sticks really cheap at duty free at the airports.
Loads of shops sell beachwear, sunglasses and tshirts really cheap in Jamaica. A good pair of sunglasses is always needed as the Sun is really bright on a clear sky.
I found batteries to be expensive in Jamaica, 5 US Dollars for 2 AA batteries so make sure you bring plenty for your digital camera.

If you are planning on visiting any of the falls or wading out into the water (lots of sea urchins-ouch!), a good pair of aqua shoes is a good investment. I saw lots of people wearing their tennis shoes which I assume would stay wet for the rest of the trip. If you are staying at an all inclusive, you should pack at least a nice pair of pants (men) and a skirt/sundress (women) if you plan on going to the reservation only restaurants. A hat is also a good idea, the part on my head always burns and then peels Sunglasses
Sunscreen!!!! The sun is very intense in Jamaica.
Pack an underwater camera-I missed out on manatee shots because I forgot to buy one, they don't have them out in the country. A disposable camera is also not a bad idea if you are planning on being out on the water in case it gets wet
I find beach time the perfect time to catch up on reading-magazines are good or maybe that 700 page book that you keep meaning to start. Leave a Comment

Take as little as possible. Make for less of a hassle at the air port
Take a good pair of shoes and a pair of sandals. Anything else you may need for clothing can be purchased very inexpensively
Take everything you may need.
Take at least 2 cameras and lots of film or extra discs for your digital. Film is hard to find and expensive
If you stay at one of the resorts you won't need a thing
SUNSCREEN and Aloe vera-A must Leave a Comment

1ST day in Jamaica by tpangelinan Leave room in your suit case for Tie-Dye T-Shirts, Rum, and Island Wood Carvings.
Bring a hat, think hot, hot, hot!!! No heavy clothes needed. More than one bathing suit a must have. If you plan to walk up the Dunns River Falls, bring water shoes.
Drinking Water was fine, I drank it everyday (and I'm delicate). Take skin lotion too, salt water, hot tub, and swimming pool are all hard on the skin, and trying a new lotion while on vacation is not a good idea.
Take all you can, and if you have a digital camera, and a laptop, you can download and look at your pictures everynight. Another fun thing was we could email to other guests we became friendly with from all over the world.
If you are on a public beach, take as little as possible with you.
I took several bathing suits on this trip. Mike took 3. We both used EVERY ONE!!! Jamaica is a Water Lover's Paradise. Leave a Comment

This is why you need a camera! by coopergirl2003 Make sure they are very securely closed...our locks were nowhere to be found after both plane journeies!
'Water shoes' if you want to climb up the Dunn's River falls (although our trainers were fine). The sea has exposed (and sharp) rocks in it so footwear is advisable (although we didn't bother...ouch!)
Mosquito repellent, cream for the bites (which we forgot), antihistamines work well to reduce the swelling and constant itching!! Apparently garlic, marmite and vitamin B are really good natural repellents!
A digital camera and digital video camera are must haves!
Take a few bits of food if you're all inclusive and might arrive late... Leave a Comment

Boating by kyoub Bring what ever you want but you won't need much.
Cotton is the coolest fabric to wear. Short, tops, swimwear, cover-up and sandals will be about all you need here unless you are staying at a resort.
Bring everything that you will be needing. You may not find it here.
Bring lot of film or a large memory card, extra battery, and a sun filter.
Don't forget the sunhat and sun glasses. Leave a Comment

by SuperNova7 Bring a sturdy suitcase....they just love to throw everything around in the airport.
Bring only shorts or for the women mini skirts or mini dresses it is too hot for anything else...serious.
Plenty of Mosquito Repellent Batteries Headache Tables Eye drops
Very small camcorders or cameras...nothing too big and bulky to draw attention to yourself.
Less is more
Sometimes it might get cool in the night time so a jumper\sweater or cardigan would be a good idea. Leave a Comment

daypack for beach/hiking
Shorts, comfortable walking shoes, flip-flops for the beach, a pair of AquaSox for climbing waterfalls (and for the communal showers at the beach), lightweight rain jacket/poncho, light-weight cotton shirt and pants or skirt, and a swimsuit! Jamaica is very casual.
Sunscreen, bug repellant, lotion, and aspirin for headaches after long days in the sun

An expandale piece of luggge will save your life!!! Or atleast room in your suitcase if you're going to shop and bring things back for people. One carry-on and a bookbag will do.
I will get straight to the point! Besides of the obvious things, make sure you bring an umbrella or something that is waterproof to cover you when it rains. I have a $5 rain jacket from Oldnavy that folds up and is very convenient and I love it!!!! Wear cpmfortable clothing. Men bring a dress jacket just in case you go to a restaurant that requires one.
Bring all of the necessary medicinals that you need! And your insurance/medical card. Also, have your blood type written down somewhere in case of an emergency! Bring a little bottle of laundry detergent. It will save you money.
A sewing kit will come in handy, dental floss is excellent when all else fails and something needs to be held together. I used my debit card for most purchases instead of trying to figure out the about in foreign currency, but make sure that you have written down the '800' number for your card in case it is los tor stolen so that it can be reported immediately! Let soemone know back home about your plans, trip interary etc. Use your work address on your luggage if it come up missing. Also, put an outfit in your carry-on too. You don't want to be stuck without changing clothes in the event that luggage is lost too. Leave a Comment
