Throughout Jamaica you will find street-side vendors selling what they call 'jelly'. Jelly is basically frozen/frosted coconut juice, and when bought from street vendors typically comes in a plastic bag of some sort, making it awkward to drink. Sometimes street vendors also just have coconuts and machetes, they split it for you, and you drink strait from the coconut. After your drink, they will typically cut a spoon like peice from the shell with wich you are to scrape and eat the 'meat' from the inside.
If you are presented with the opportunity to drink strait from a coconut, do it, it's very good. It is a rather sweet, thick liquid. Leave a Comment
