Popular Restaurants | Other Restaurants Tips | All Tips (7) We enjoyed delicious omelettes in the morning, a variety of local and more American lunch items, and themed Buffets each night. The Jamaican favorite was the jerk chicken and the aukee and saltfish. Frank like the oxtail stew, too. Delicous sweet and unsweet tea. It was serve yourself except for the refills. Our waitresses, Janice, Brenda Christie, and Bronwin really took care of us the whole time. They were delightful. The (imitation) crab salad, as well as all the other salads, was a big hit, too.

Ok this is not a big nice facny restuarant, this was simply a local store front icecream shop. There were many different flavors, some made with local fruit (like Sour Sop). The shop may look a little janky, but the ice cream was excellent! There was a Baskin Robbins there but, why get that, when you can get that while here in the states!
I had pistachio ice cream and it was the best! The ice cream was nice and creamy, and the nuts were still kind of crunchy! PERFECT COMBO!! The all-inclusive package meant that 90% of the people we saw in the beaches and pools carried... a glass with colored drink. Trying to introduce variety in a all-inclusive week, the hotel had several restaurants "officially" with different cuisines. Well, they were not so different - different rooms and ambiances but the same basic food, with a small detail of a more elaborated dish. Jam Dung is unique (at least to me) in Jamaica. A sports bar & grill where locals come to eat and they specialize in roast yams--you HAVE to try some.
It is a fairly new (and progressive) Bar & Grill right off the main road between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios in Salem-Runaway Bay in St. Ann's Parish.
Jerome and his staff are really wonderful people.
You can eat under the roof or under a tiki hut. One afternoon I was there doing some internet business we had a brief rain and Jerome promptly lowered the clear plastic rainguards and kept everything dry.
You can sit, enjoy some local libations, local food, speak to locals and access free wi-fi---all in a tropical setting.
I can recommend Jam Dung to anyone traversing along the road or anyone staying at Hedonism III to take a 10 minute walk off property, down the entrance road and cross over the main road to Jam Dung (Be sure to look BOTH WAYS though!!)
While their smoked meats are excellent, the roasted yams are incredibly delicious!
Real slow-roasted, wood smoke-infused flavors make for a special treat and the yams are a house speciality. Very tasty.
Try the meats and fish specials too posted on a board outside the kitchen. I had the fry chicken for lunch one afternoon and it was absolutely perfect.
