    Sun tan Lotion

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: SUN TAN LOTION, the sun is killer here, we went to a tanning place for 1 month before going here to prepare our skin. SPF48 you will still get a tan.

Photo Equipment: Camera is a must along wit hrechargable batteries & charger, ( Batteries are very expensive in Jamaica ) Suggest a laptop computer if you can, so you can download your photos to take more!

    Packing for a beach vacation

by Dabs Updated Mar 29, 2009

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: Bring a waterproof beach bag if you are going out on the water, things get wet when you are on a boat

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you are planning on visiting any of the falls or wading out into the water (lots of sea urchins-ouch!), a pair of aqua shoes is a good investment. I saw lots of people wearing their tennis shoes which I assume would stay wet for the rest of the trip.

If you are staying at an all inclusive, you should pack at least a nice pair of pants (men) and a skirt/sundress (women) if you plan on going to the reservation only restaurants.

A hat is also a good idea, the part on my head always burns and then peels

    Sunglasses, bathing suit, sandals, tshirt

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen!!!! The sun is very intense in Jamaica. Aloe is a good thing to have if you get burned.

Unless you are in a high end resort, don't assume they will have all the necessary toiletries. Our all inclusive only had bath gel and shampoo, no lotion or bar soap or conditioner.

Photo Equipment: Underwater camera-I missed out on manatee shots because I forgot to buy one, they don't have them out in the country. A disposable camera is also not a bad idea if you are planning on being out on the water in case it gets wet

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Snorkel gear, most resorts will have it but it's nice to use your own mask and snorkel

Miscellaneous: I do a lot of reading on beach vacations, all the magazines I've not had the time to read or maybe that 700 page book that I've been meaning to tackle

If you are at an AI, bring along a water bottle or mug otherwise you'll be drinking out of tiny plastic cups or buying a mug at the resort.

Extra plastic bags come in handy for carrying home wet bathing suits

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: Bathingsuits,cover-ups ,matching sandles or flip flops , matching beach bags I brought a whole 26 inch suitcase home with all clean clothes - never worn lol lol oh well will know better next time

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: a couple of short outfits maybe a summer dress or two , and remember just because they make it in your size doesn't mean you should wear it

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: band-aides ( for those new shoes )

    Photo Equipment: lots of film

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: water shoes are a must if you are going to " the falls "
