Negril What to Pack

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Avoid over packing (I packed WAY too much). Wore swimsuits, serongs, shorts, t-shirts, and a dress or two, and brought everything else back clean.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: sunscreen and a first aid kit.

Photo Equipment: lots of film and back-up batteries. Our Canon AS-6 underwater camera takes MUCH better pics than the disposable ones I tried.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you plan to spend a lot of time snorkeling, bring your own equipment.

Miscellaneous: an umbrella is helpful and bug spray is a MUST. The sand fleas are wicked after a rain and in the evening.

Luggage and bags: we only took carry on baggage but i suggest taking a spare bag along if you plan to shop. then you will have something to bring home those treasures you must have.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: sandals, a few swimsuits, 1-2 pair of shorts only. Pack light. we didn't dine anywhere fancy so we only needed our swimsuits and shorts. A beach wrap is a must for us ladies. it doubles as a skirt or dress to dine at your resort.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: PeptoBismol (for just in case), sunblock (even if you tan at home), tylenol (for the mornings if you indulge too much), hygiene products and any prescriptions that you have to take.

Photo Equipment: take your cameras and film with you.

Miscellaneous: Even though I tan very easily in the States and rarely burn at home, I highly recommend that you take sunblock with you and use it!!!! Especially on your face. I found out the hard way.

Luggage and bags: Small suitcase sufficient for travel to Jamaica. But you'll want a small beach bag for sunscreen, bug repellent and cameras.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: No need for anything more than bikini's and cover-ups. Maybe a pair of sandals for dinner.

Photo Equipment: Digital cameras are great, but bring outdoor/underwater for the beach.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Sraw Hats are a must!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Believe the hype about the mosquitos! I am from Texas and we have mosquitos, but they are NOTHING compared to the MONSTER Jamaican mossquitos. They are HUGE! They aren't a huge problem during the day while you're on the beach and in the water, but watch out for night time. You can purchase when you get there, but you will pay a bit more.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Extra workout clothes (if you plan to use the gym). The humidity makes it hard to hand wash and dry out in time for another use! Also, I would have brought extra underwear for the same above reason!
At our hotel's restaurants, a strict dress code was enforced. If I could do it all over again, I would have brought a pair of leather sandals and/or a pair of heels just in case. Lastly, I wish I would have brought a travel supply of laundry detergent and/or baking soda/Shout to get out any possible stains that you may get on your clothing!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: lots of SUNTAN LOTION! I brought three bottles ranging from SPF 15-30 and I still got scorching burned the first day! You will need to bring extra suntan lotion so that you can re-apply when you get out of the ocean. The sun is much more intense there it seems! Also, extra bandaids, extra bug spray, and hydrocortisone. The first day in the ocean I got stung by a jelly fish. The nurse at the hotel applied hydrocortisone cream on my leg and it worked wonders!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Clothesline and clothes pins to dry clothes from. They do provide an umbrella at Couples Swept Away, but I brought a poncho anyway and it was helpful. It rains off and on there so you have to be prepared.

Miscellaneous: extra MAGAZINES! Girls, if you plan to buy more at the hotel it will cost you. About $10 per magazine to be exact! YIKES!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In addition to the obvious- sandals and light weight clothing, bring a pair of pants and shoes. Beach mites bite your legs at dusk when you walk on the beach, and this is one way to avoid the red marks.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: 1) Neutrogena Color-Boosting Facial Sunblock, 30 SPF
2) Hawaiian Tropic Oil-free, Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Spray, 50 SPF
3) Repel Insect Repellent: smells great, like perfume!

Ladies:
Perfume attracts mosquitos, don't bring it! Lotion, lip balm, facial creams and foundation is not necessary because of the moisture and heat in the air. You will wipe foundation off your face the minute you walk into the hot air.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Ladies - All I can say is Maxi dress! In the right material it works as a bathing suit cover up, an out to dinner dress, lunch by the ocean... I brought two and wore them non-stop!

Photo Equipment: of course film and supplies are way over-priced. Definitely make sure you are stocked up!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Make sure you bring sunscreen (price gouging happens). Also, if you're doing an all inclusive. Bring a large insulated cup / thermos cup. The drinks are free but the plastic cups are tiny. Lets you get a large drink and enjoy the beach!

Miscellaneous: Make sure you go to Rick's! We saved it until the last day, which was quite overcast, and wish we had gone multiple times. It's a bit touristy but the divers were a lot of fun to watch! They'll let you dive if you have the nerve.
