Reggae bands play whilst you enjoy a drink (little more expensive than elsewhere) and watch the sunset and local men and kids diving off the cliffs for money. Watch out for when they climb to the top of the tree and jump from there. Be brave and try a jump yourself! Go on I dare you!
Sunset is amazing. There is also a telephone number that you can call and Rick's Cafe will come and collect you if you don't want to pay for a taxi.

I went with some friends to Jamaica, and we ended up finding this tour guide called Sexy Rexy. He was awesome! He took us to Blue Mountain, Kingston, and YS Falls. Each night we ended up staying in Negril drinking at these various bars. It was an awesome experience, being a fun and safe way to see Jamaica. Leave a Comment

In Negril, it seems as though everyone is a taxi driver, however only those with red license plates are actually certified taxi drivers. Always negotiate the price of your excursion and intended destination before getting into the cab. Most people will stay true and honest once they've given you a price. Negotating is often a part of the experience, so simply be prepared for this, or set up all of your travel arrangements before reaching the island.
If you haven't arranged a booze cruise, river tour, jungle tour, or other trips in advance, than feel free to just take a taxi tour around the island. Most drivers are happy to take you around and show you what they are proud of within their country. Many drivers hang out around hotels and downtown Negril- so it's never hard to find one. Jerk Pork in Negril is as easy to find as the Beach. Oil drums converted into cookers dot the roadsides making Jerk Pork the fast food of Negril. Beware this is a spicy dish but the flavor is wonderful and is served with jerk sause (Hot $ Spicy). It is well cooked and is chopped in large but bite sized pieces served on a sheet of foil and then wrapped up. There are no identiable cuts of meat and is eaten with your hands. Many would question whether to eat food sold on the side of the road in Jamaica but I suffered no ill effects. A must is to go snokling with a very nice captain named vincent . His name is on the side of his boat. You will get to see the island from a different beautiful veiw! He will pick you up by water at your hotel. Even if you just boat ride he has a safe glass bottom boat. Our friend we met thur another VT member (pirate) OZ made all the arrangements. Not a lot of $ . Oz also picked us up at the airport nice van and very nice man with a lot of info about what and how to do it ! I always wanted my hair braided found a really nice girl named Wanetta at booth 59 at the craft market. she also had the best price on carved fish! Between my mom and I we bought 7 fish ! Everything is beach in Negril, actually about 10 kms of beach!! There is also a little downtown where you can buy rum, souvenirs cigars, take money with credit card etc.

My sister and I took a glass bottom boat to Booby Cay. The movie 20,000 leauges under the sea was filmed here. The view of the beach and ocean were wonderful, and the island itself was enchanting. Though I was a little disappointed by the trash on the island it was still worthwhile. We hiked part of the island, saw where the locals hang out, and I found a sea urchin to bring home.
