Preparing the fresh food in front of you by Heavens-Mirror Munasan is a fantastic restaurant, once you have decided what you would like to eat the chef then cooks it all in front of you at your table which makes you more hungry waiting for it. Its also great to watch them and see how they cook and prepare it all for you. The surroundings of the restaurant are really welcomming and the food is fabulous too. You do have to make reservations to eat at this place but you can still make a reservation on the same day that you want to eat there. It is open 6 evenings a week.
Im not too keen on Sushi but i did give it a try. I enjoyed the chicken and noodles the most.

Juici Patties is a Jamaican fast food chain – their answer to McDonalds or Kentucky Fried Chicken. A meal here is a far more authentic way to experience the island than any burger or the Colonel’s attempts at jerk chicken could be. As the name suggests, among the main offerings are traditional Jamaican patties – pastry cases filled with beef, chicken or vegetables, a little like a Cornish pasty. Also available are loaves (a bit like a stuffed pitta bread), sweet cakes and jerk dishes. We stopped at the branch near Bog Walk for breakfast one day. The breakfast menu included saltfish with callaloo, chicken stew and liver served with dasheen (a sort of yam) and dumplings. Chris had the latter and said it was good, though the grey colour of the dasheen (see photo 3) was a little off-putting. I’m afraid I was feeling a little off colour (one rum too many the previous evening!) so stuck to the safer option of a delicious spicy carrot cake and an orange juice. By the way, it helps to know the system here. You queue first at the till to place your order and pay, then move to the food counter and hand over the receipt to have your order made up. Sodas are self-service and refills free, and prices for everything very reasonable – our breakfast cost only a few dollars.

Drinks shack near Black River (by Chris) by toonsarah, 1 more photos I admit that in some countries we visit I’m cautious about eating food from roadside stalls, but you need have no worries on that score in Jamaica, and we had some delicious meals from such places. The best of them are the jerk centres, and some are now as established as more conventional restaurants. We loved Scotchies, near St Ann’s Bay, for instance. There’s also good seafood to be had, although when we stopped for a meal in a seafood shack near Montego Bay we chose jerk pork – again! You’ll never go thirsty while travelling around either. There are so many of these little drinks shacks selling beers and soft drinks, and prices are much cheaper than in the tourist establishments. We both liked the local soda, Ting (a grapefruit-based fizzy drink) and the Red Stripes also went down rather well. One of drivers told us that it’s not illegal to have open bottles of alcoholic drinks in the car, as long as the driver isn’t drinking it, so grab a chilled bottle and sit back and enjoy the ride! Juici Patties by Dabs We stopped to have a quick bite at one of these near Mandeville and again in Kingston but saw them all over Jamaica. Apparently although they have a variety of them on the menu, not all of them are made up at any given time.
Patties are a pastry (kind of like pot pie pastry) wrapped around filling containing meat, chicken or seafood and vegetables with a bit of spice. They are similar to pasties except with a bit more spice, I believe pasties have their roots in England. 1 was kind of small for a meal but 2 were too much for me, I tried chicken and beef as the shrimp ones were not made. On the 2nd visit I had chicken and lobster, my husband tried meatloaf which was the same filling as the patties but with more bread. The patties were 40-45 Jamaican so less than $1 US Leave a Comment Theme: Fast FoodPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: All over Jamaica

La Cucina by tpangelinan Very popular, book ahead early. I hated it. Mike hated it. The other couple we went with liked it only ok. If you want Itallian, go to Europe, not Jamaica.
We liked this restaurant the least of all. It was a big wait to get a reservation too, must be the view! Go to the Bay side or the Thai place instead. Nice sunset. Open only at night, reservations a must, book early! Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianAddress: Sandals Royal CarribeanDirections: 2nd floor water front dining. We booked dinner here 4 days in advance. Fills up early. I would recommend any restaurant with a buffet at any of the three Sandals in Mo B ay.

Little Culloden Bay by kyoub By far the best meals that we had in Jamaica were on Little Culloden Bay. We ate there often and enjoyed every meal.
Great atmosphere, friendly servers and owners, freshly prepared food. Leave a Comment

Buying Bread Fruit by Pawtuxet Buying bread fruit at the local market with our cook. Our cook and maid were such sweet women. My husband and I shopped daily with the cook. Got a big kick out of her. Learned a lot about local foods...habits...family life....social conditions from her. She was a jewel. We are holding bread fruit... which seemed to be a staple in their diet. Bread Fruit Tree by Pawtuxet Here is a "bread fruit" tree. Our cook prepared bread fruit by cooking it (whole) right on the gas stove...with no pan. She turned it regularly until it was black...and then peeled it, sliced, and served it. Very commonly found around the island, but don't know if they serve it in resorts. Be sure you try it.
