Snorkeling

by Jim_Eliason

The Montego Bay area offers a reef system right off the coast. In most areas within reach to swim from the beach. Although the reef system itself is not very colorful, it hosts a wide variety of tropical fishes. Bring your own or rent from any beach.

~ Sailing ~

by Heavens-Mirror

A sailing trip is a must in Jamaica just to go out to sea and see those beautiful clear waters around you is something you must do.I enjoyed going sailing whilst chatting away with my Auntie and enjoying the sunshine. Its really relaxing after a long day. Sailing was free at the Starfish Trelawny hotel in Falmouth but if your not with an all inclusive hotel it only costs around 10 US Dollars per person. A life jacket is a must, you should be provided with one for your safety. Also its best to wear swimwear as you do get splashed by the water.

Free Snorkeling from Resort

by tpangelinan

All of the Sandals Resorts provide free water sports. This is the Glass Bottom boat to take Sandals Montego Bay guests out snorkling two times a day. You can just go along for the boat ride if you like, and it is free, but you must make a reservation to go at the hotel courtesy desk. We never saw the boat full during our stay.

You must be able to swim!

by tpangelinan

You have to wear a life jacket, flippers and no skin products, or jewelry. No pregnant ladies allowed, too dangerous for baby. Dolphins can sense pregnancy.Dolphin Cove Ltd.P.O. Box 21, Ocho Rios P.O., St. AnnJamaica W.I.Telephone: (876) 974-5335email: info@dolphincovejamaica.com They have everything you need there, but take a towel and a change of clothes for the ride back to your resort.

Scuba is included at Sandals

by jonkaren3

We were not yet certified divers, but instruction (resort course) was included. We had to complete a swim test before we took the course. They included teaching us about establishing neutral buoyancy using the the fin pivot, and how to attach the regulator, BCD and tank. This was more then I got at other resort courses. All dive gear was provided.

Night Diving

by suraphona

Negril offers some of the best diving in Jamaica, thanks to the coral reefs and limestone cliffs that abound throughout the area. These formations provide a watery home for a wide assortment of tropical fish, exotic winged stingrays, eels, dolphins, and occasionally, large lumbering turtles. A time when the water and night sky merge, a time of intense colors caught in the beam of light one casts over the previously known but now eerie landscape, a time when the delicate plants wave and undulate to their own underwater reggae beat, a time when the exotic underwater world lures you to experience new discoveries and joy.

Water sports

by kyoub

All of the resorts have numerous water sports that you can enjoy. As well as swimming, there are kayaks, jet skies, rafting, sailing, and water skiing.

swim and snorkel

the waters in Jamaica are calmer than most other parts of the world except of course when they are having a hurricane. For those of you who are beginners in this sport this is the best place to start

Water Sport, Swimming

Here is the swimming pool at Sandals Inn Montego Bay. Very clean. It was never 'too crowded' during our stay. The hot tub/spa is the round end of the pool.
