Dunn's River Falls
During my first trip to Jamaica in 2001 (as a cruise port), my companion and I opted for Dunn's River Falls as our shore excursion. Our ship docked on the opposite side of the island, which required a 2-hour bus trip each way. Dunn's River Falls is very beautiful, and very crowded with tourists. Don't know if/how this could be helped. We arrived, and were led to the base of the Falls where we formed a "human chain" to ascend the waterfall. There are ample pauses for photo ops (the Massage Chair, the Pool) and there are Jamaican guides along the way who are happy to take a photo with your camera, which serves the double duty of creating a souvenir and keeping your camera dry! Remember to place a few dollars in the tip box at the top to show your appreciation.At one point, my foot became lodged between two rocks, and I went down.
