Rose Hall

by Gypsystravels

Formerly the home of Annie Palmer, the white witch of Rose Hall. Legend has it that she was taught vodoo as a child by a Haitian prietess. She marries the owner of Rose Hall, John Palmer, who dies mysteriously three years later. The sex-crazed murderess goes on to kill two more husbands before the third escapes. She then kills several slaves before she is strangled in her bed during a slave uprising in 1831. Her restless spirit is supposed to haunt the house now. The house was then purchased by two U.S. entrepeneurs who spent millions in restoring it and is now a great hall and many tourist come to visit. The house can be leased for private functions or lavish Galas. There is also a gift shop and pub in the dungeon where Annie Palmer is said to have imprisoned and turtured her victims.

Diving

by Rebecca76

The fish in here are so pretty and the water is so clear! The bummer was the winds picked up most days so the ride out to the dive spot was rough and trying to get back into the boat was more of a pain that usual. I am not sure what was going on while we were there, but there just werent as many fish as there were 5 years ago, last time I was there. It could have just been the sights that we were at, but I really have no idea. No matter what, I loved diving here. This is where I was certified when I was 15 and each time I have dove, I have always felt comfortable with the dive masters (which is seriously important to me)

Dunns Falls

by Rebecca76

Okay, so this is a tourist trap, but I had to go.. The falls and trees are so pretty and actually walking the falls was a great experience. It is pretty funny, you go in groups and you all hold hands so that no one gets lost in the current or falls in a hole or on a tree root. The water is cold and it can get deep in some places. Bottom line, if you ignore the fact that it is a tourist trap, you will have a great time.

Riding the Ziplines

by Rebecca76

I went to the jungle to play on the ziplines and I think it was the most fun I had while I was in Jamaica. Your heart is in your throat as you fly through the air from one tree to the next. If you have the opportunity to do this and you havent done it before, go for it. These people are trained by the people who do the zip lines in Costa Rico. I hear that they arent as big in Jamaica, but since I didnt know any better, I think it must be just as fun! The people that run the tour are really nice. They know a lot about the region and talk about where you are and the history of the island.

Dunns River Falls

by BOSEDE

If youv'e never had the experiance to see much less climb a real, natural waterfall, this is a must do. It made me feel connected to the earth. I was my first time to ever see a waterfall, and to climb it was an experience of a lifetime for me.

~ Snorkelling ~

by Heavens-Mirror

I went snorkelling along Falmouth beach in Jamaica and it was amazing. It only cost me 10 US Dollars and we went out to sea and saw some amazing fish in the waters.I saw some sea Urchings which you cannot touch as they sting and i also saw lots of cute tiger fish, puffer fish and also starfish plus many more colourful fishes and beautiful coral. I really wish i had of taken an underwater camera though because it was so beautiful to see the underwater life.Anyone wanting to go snorkelling make sure you take your underwater camera as its something which cannot be missed.

~ Martha Brae River Rafting ~

by Heavens-Mirror

Enjoy the Jamaican Countryside and take a trip down Martha Brae on a 30ft Bamboo River Raft. This raft is suitable for 2 people and you are taken across the clear blue waters by the soft gentle currencts of the river. You are guided by an expert rafting man.It is a nice relaxing excursion and you can take in all the stunning countryside as you are taken across the pretty blue waters for around 2 hours. You can then stop off for a swim in the beautiful water or stop by for a drink of Rum Punch. This amazing trip only costs 30 US Dollars per person.

~ Horseback Ride & Swim ~

by Heavens-Mirror

Enjoy a scenic bus trip to the Chukka Cove in an air conditioned bus which pick you up from your hotel. Once you get there, you meet the beautiful well cared for horses. You then take a ride through the gorgeous Jamaican Farm Villages and through the mountains. Then you get to experience the ride and swim, where your horse plunges its way through the beautiful clear waters of the Caribbean sea and you can feel the power and sensation of the lovely horses. The tour takes around 2-3 hours and you are provided with experienced guides. It is a remarkable excursion and i have heard that Jamaica is the only country to be doing the ride and swim which makes it unique for you all to do. It 60 US Dollars per person and well worth the money. You also get a photo taken of you standing on the horses back which is great.

~ Glistening Waters At the Blue Lagoon ~

by Heavens-Mirror

Close to Falmouth is the amazing Blue Lagoon, it was one of the most amazing excursions i did in Jamaica. The trip has to be done after dark and you take a boat trip along the famous glistening waters. The water is all luminous when touched and you can see the outlines of fish, jelly fish and streaks of light when you touch the water. You can even get in the water and swim and watch the water as it lights up the whole area around you.Words cannot describe how great this is, it would even show up on camera. Make sure you do this trip in Jamaica. Its only 15 US Dollars per person and lasts around 1 hour.

Resort Activities

by Jerrysnj

Take part in as many activities as you can. The resort has several people that set up games and contest that are a blast. You will get drunk if you do the drinking games. There are too many things to list here but the resort posts the activities that are scheduled every day.
