A full package concept : It is a bar, becomes a restaurant and later in the evening starts with a Karaoke session and finally turns into a disco. You have to dress well, not like a tourist and not like a beggar. It is because there is some selection at the entrance that you can enjoy your evening in a safe place with nice people.
Just only stay sit on the beach, looking at a sky all covered by stars can gift you the most wonderful nights, .....but for the disco maniac there are a choise of music bar, disco and music pub L'Endroit - a Saint Anne..discoHemingway Pub - a Trois Ilets.....Pub and live musicXenakis Club - a Fort de France.....disco
There are casinos in Fort-de-France, but don't expect to be dazzled by what you see. They make a big deal of it, making you show your passport and having you fill out forms as if millions of dollars are about to be at stake, but I'm not sure what the excitement is about. If you're accustomed to Atlantic City or Las Vegas for gambling action, you'll really be let down. I just couldn't see what all the fuss what about, so I went next door into the reggae bar of the hotel where the music was really exciting. The tour leader wasn't too happy about that, because we looked really out of place among the locals and the drinks were much more expensive than we imagined.
There are a few clubs in Fort de France, but the area borders a drug dealing area. I avoided going there by night, as did some people from mainland France that I met there. The internet cafe Ill mention in another section can get quite busy and social in the evenings. Point du Bout across the bay has some lively bars and you can crash the discos in some of the big hotels around there. Informal
Karaoke Café (which is a nightclub, not a café, and as far as I know they do not do karaoke!)This is a nightclub to go to with a friendly vibe, it is a great place to see live music. Smart-Casual.
