    • Check out the sugar cane plantations while you're in Martinique. You haven't really tasted sugar until you've chewed on a piece of sugar cane! There's even a Sugar Cane Museum!

    • Many travelers visit the Southern part and fort-de-France, but forget that Martinique has dozen and dozen of tiny islands (îlets in french).
    'Le havre du Robert' is a good exemple. It is a bay located on the East side with about 10 îlets. One of them if full of giant lezards (one of the two unique place you can see them in Martinique) and one of them has a beach (go there during the week, you will be alone)... The best if you want to visit them is to ask a fisherman at Le Robert for exemple...

    MONT PELEE IS STILL THE HIGHEST POINT ON THE ISLAND. CURRENT ELEVATION IS 4583 FEET (1397 METERS).
