A large suitcase to hold all of the beautiful souvenirs, along with a beach bag and whatever type of bag you want to bring along on a bus tour.
It's hot, so dress for blazing, brilliant sunshine!
Aloe vera, sunblock with a high SPF rating. The natives taught me that drinking aloe vera straight from the plant also doubles as a marvelous hangover remedy. One morning I was too sunburned and hungover to get out of bed and the chambermaid wanted to clean my room, she came back with a man who was brandishing a machete. I was scared stiff at first, so I went along with their instructions. The man whacked a large plant open with the machete, then poured its contents into a plastic bathroom tumbler. The first three tumblers-full he applied to my sunburn, and the fourth tumbler he instructed me to drink. To my complete surprise, I felt completely well again in minutes. So if you're feeling woozy, keep that home remedy in mind!
Go shopping for photo supplies before you leave home. You don't want to find yourself surrounded by all this beautiful scenery without the right equipment, believe me! Leave a Comment

You won't need any warm clothing in Martinique as it is usually warm 24hrs. However, it is very humid (in a pleasant way) and this means that it is very hard to get anything to dry once it has got wet. In the evenings you might want to wear long sleves and trousers to protect from mosquito bites
You can buy everything you need in Fort-de-France, but it is advisable to have a MOSQUITO NET and plenty of repellant / bite cream.
Films can be expensive in the villages - so stock up in Forte-de-France.
Depending on the time of year, it is not uncommon to have a sudden thunderstorm and torrential rain. There is little warning, but these can pass within 1/2 to 2 hours. You might want to take a light weight rain coat, and waterproof rucksack to keep things dry.
You can buy everything from the shopping centres in and around Fort-de-France, but things are usually about 10% to 20% more expensive than in Europe. Leave a Comment
