La Vague (cuisine creole): La Vague (cuisine creole)

by Lord_Freyr

A nice and good value restaurant, with discovery menus (mine was 12 or 14 euros and was excellent). You eat on a terrace facing the sea, it is a bit old-fashion but you will appreciate the atmosphereOpen 7/7 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Colombo de Cabri (goat meat). In Europe you do not eat often goat, so go and east some here. The mix between spices, cabri and vegies is tasty :)

I mostly ate at Club Med because I was on a package deal. However, I did take one really nice excursion which included a stop at a plantation for lunch; I believe its name was Leyritz on the northern tip of the island.

travelqueen7's Restaurant Tip

by travelqueen7

In Fort-de-France the streets are lined with little restaurants and shops. Any of the restaurants are good, they serve fresh French pastries which are nice at anytime of the day. Being the island is very European the foods are rich and fufilling. And of course if you aren't that daring or just want something familiar McDonald's and other fast food restaurants are found though out the island.

by Nomad_2001

As with every country I have been to, there is so much good food. In the day time, you get some snacks at the Fruit and Vegetable Market in Fort-de-France. If you haven't tried breadfruit, this is the perfect opportunity. The best food on Martinique is French creole style seafood dishes. Above all else, you MUST indulge in the amazingly fresh seafood available here: fresh water crayfish (cribiches), conch (lambi), sea urchin eggs (oursin) and Caribbean lobster (langouste). There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes.
