Golf Course by eenelfje The Jerk is absolutely delicious local creole food and not expensive at all ! When you order a meal, order "small" because small is very big and "big" is huge ! Located just behind backstreet (opposite the police station). But be sure to come before 13.00 p.m. because if you come too late all the delicious food is already sold out. The locals eat a warm meal at noon !
Everything is delicious. You just go to the counter in the back of the shop and order what you like. Then take your meal to a table. At noon its always crowed with locals. Mullet Bay by eenelfje Typical local snack is Johnny Cake !! Its not really a cake, its a flat round fried kind of bread, very tasty, with or without cheese in it. You should really try it when youŽre there. The nicest and tastiest Johnny Cakes are sold in a caravan in Marigot. Just when you drive into Marigot on youŽre right side on a sandy parking space is a caravan. There they sell the delicious Johnny Cake. For just USD 1 for one piece !! Illidgeroad by eenelfje If you want delicious cheap local food at lunchtime just drive accross the island there are a lot of local foodstalls or little wooden houses where they sell the food. Dont let the appereance of the food houses scare you ! Its all good food !! But you have to look carefully to not miss them along side the road ! A nice one is when you drive from Phillipsburg to the airport just near the salt pound just before the roundabout on your left side thereŽs a white wooden bungalow stylish foodhouse. (Illidgeroad) Also in Marigot next to the big parking area there are some little wooden coloured foodhouses located next to eachother ! But again come early !!! Before 13.00 p.m. or youŽll miss all the delicious local food. Guavaberry emporium by ATXtraveler One of the most important places to visit in downtown Phillipsburg is the Guavaberry Emporium, where they are nice enough to give out free samples of the Guavaberry Daquiri or Coladas! I believe they gave me three free drinks, since I wanted to try each of their varieties... and it paid off, i ended up buying some of their liquor... so it all worked out. Make sure to get your free samples!!
Guavaberry Coladas: Blend with ice until frothy - 2 oz. Sint Maarten Guavaberry Liqueur, 1 oz Cream of Coconut, 3 oz. Pineapple and fresh or canned chunks of fruit or juice. Garnish with pineapple, toasted coconut and grated nutmeg. Leave a Comment

Looks Can Be Deceiving by starship Location, location, location! The food here is not bad, and though somewhat expensive for what you get, the special thing about this restaurant is the beach view! When you first enter the small doorway (see in the accompanying picture) to "Every'ting Cool" you're not sure what to expect. But as you walk through the small corridor, you suddenly realize that the restaurant is really open air with tables and chairs outside on a series of small decks right on the beach! The bar area is really the only part that has an overhead cover. Try to catch one of the tables under the trees to protect yourself from the tropical sun. Usually there is some kind of musical entertainment which will certainly further enhance your excitement at being in the Caribbean!
The burgers and fries here aren't gourmet but they're not bad either! Try the local Caribbean beer which are on the same order as some of the Mexican beers. Kangaroo Court by starship This cute little restaurant was recommended by the cruise line and I would have liked to try it, but we opted for "Every'ting Cool" because of its beach location. Here at Kangeroo Court, you can expect to find pasta, salads and sandwiches, frozen drinks gourmet coffees and Phillipsburg's only Expresso Bar! In Grand Case stuffed with good but highly overpriced restaurants I managed to find a place where one can simply have drinks and watch sunset without having to spend a fortune on fois gras. The place is called Calmos cafe which is translated from French as Relaxing cafe. Indeed, the most relaxing place on the island! Best time to go is about an hour before sunset, watch the day turn into night and you get a lantern on your table and the sea splashes quitely at your feet...Ahhh!
some kind of meatballs tapas, forgot the name. Delicious! Theme: FrenchPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 40 Bd De Grand CaseDirections: once in Grand Case just ask where it is

So you get to the island and your ready to chomp some grub. Well why not go to the green house. Get there early so you don't have to wait in line. I can sit here and tell you about this place, but it will be a waste of time. The thing to do is check out the website. It tells all you want to know about the place. Good luck, and have fun!! IF YOU LIKE MY POST PLEASE GIVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK, THANKS.
There are many different dishes to choose from. It's island food so it's good but isn't going to win any New York city tastes test awards. Check the website below to see full menu. Philipsburg, St MaartenPhone: 011-599 542-2941Directions: If you get off a cruise ship walk off the main dock and go right by the welcome center. Then walk the side walk by the road. A water taxi can also be taken to the Greenhouse. They try to get the tourist to do this. It's only like a 10 minute or less walk.Website: http://www.thegreenhouserestaurant.com/greenhousesxm/index.html

This place isn't much to look at (looks like small, old riverboat), but it is really good! It is on the main road from Philipsburg to the Airport, but it has some of the best barbeque on the island at rock bottom prices. It is only open for dinner.
The all you can eat baby back ribs for $15.99 were a tremendous value and were some of the best I have ever eaten. View from Busby's by jenn_d This hopping beach bar is located on the sand at Dawn Beach. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner but the highlight here is definitely the 75 cent Caribe beers served from 11-4 every day. Happy hour starts at 4 and beers are still an affordable $2.50. Otherwise the food here is marginal at best and will keep you satisfied while sitting on the beach.
One item that I had for breakfast was particularily yummy. It was called a Johnny Cake and consisted of eggs, ham, and cheese fried in a local bread. Leave a Comment
