It is a very worthwhile experience to see what a group of women have done to build a life for their families while pursuing such a highly skilled, beautiful craft. Try to buy as much as you can to take home; you won't regret. And the women will welcome you in, proud as they are to show their work. You continue on with the bus past Condega on the highway north from Esteli and then walk a half mile or so ujp the road to the left. Look for the sign for the Taller de Ceramica Ducuali Grande.
This Plane Wreck Brings Back History

Just a ways out of town you will come across a plane of Somoza's that had been shot down during the revolution. It has been carefully restored and is now a monument to the anti-Somoza struggle. The day I was there it was watched over lovingly by a man who I assume is the regular caretaker, an interesting character who remembers the whole history of this time vividly. You'll find it right near the highway north of town, as you turn off to the town of Condega
