Many of my tips are about churches though I am not a religious person at all. I visit them to admire the architecture and there is at least one every city, town and village so you cannot really avoid them! The church is surrounded by beautiful garden with palm trees and flowers. I didn't go in because there was a service and I didn't want to disturb it.

It was sunday when I was in Ocotal and families, young couples and older couples all seemed to gather in Parque Central, which was a charming place with lots of trees, flowerbeds and scrubs, some benches and a fountain in the middle. Lovely place to sit and watch local life.

As I mentioned there is not anything really impressive in Ocotal. Just walk around slowly and feel the peaceful life there. What more can you expect on a Sunday afternoon!
