When you're hungry when visiting the Mirador in Catarina, you can either choose to sit at the expensive restaurants with Lagoon-view and pay 10 dollars for a starter, or you can walk a few metres further and grab a tasty burger that costs less then one fifth of that price. At the hamburger bar you'll find here you can have a good and cheap meal for only a few dollars.
When facing the Lagoon, you have a walk all the way down and then to the left. There you'll find a small place where you can sit down (without a Lagoon-view) and fill your stomach for a much better price then at the other places around.
For a very good hamburger and a beer you'll pay only 2 dollars. And that price includes some colourful cartoon-images all around you, a comfortable white plastic chair and a television playing only 90's music.

After a bustrip from Granada to the Pueblos Blancos and after enjoying the great view over the Laguna de Apoyo, we were getting hungry and thirsty. Luckily there was a great restaurant nearby: at the top of the hill of the Mirador. There was a nice building from where you had a fantastic view of the environment: a great place to sit down...
But when we walked towards this restaurant hell broke loose. This restaurant we were looking at appeared not to be only one firm, but three different ones! And from all three places the waiters started begging us to sit down with them, and started arguing with eachother about who had the right to take us with them.
To *** them off a little bit more we were doubting which one we should choose for a while before we chose for one. After seeing the menu though, we decided to only have a beer and leave again afterwards: the prices were extremely high compared to the average level in Central America, and all of a sudden I was not hungry anymore. Our waiter clearly was a bit disappointed with his "catch"...
