Bridgette (far left) and Co. by epicult Candle light dining is your only option on Little Corn due to the fact that there simply is no electricity... unless you dine in the more upscale restaurants/hotels that have generator produced electricity. If you don't mind candles only, Bridgette cooks up a mean lobster , fish and fried chicken. She'll also cook up any fish you catch for free as long as you share the rest with her guests. Unis and Joanna keep the beers coming and the candles burning. They close when you leave or they run out of whatever your poison is.
Lobster ($6.50 US for two large tails) w/massive portions of platano, guyo pinto and coleslaw. Broiled, fried or sauteed in garlic. Women of Mozonte making nacatamales by hanula Nacatamales is the most typical Nicaraguan food. It is smashed corn and potatoes wrapped in a banana leaf along with some pork meat, little fresh tomato and some garlic & salt. The leaf is tightly wrapped and tied with a string and the whole thing is boiled in water. It is tasty when fresh, very cheap and has lots of oil in it. chicken lady by JenniferG This is an amazing place to have dinner! While you sit down on the sidewalk you pick the thing you want: chicken or beef, order a freshly made lemonade and watch your meat grilled on the barbecue. This is not a place tourists often go to. It probably doesn't look very reliable but trust me this is the way locals go out for dinner. It's good and cheap and a unique experience. And we didn't got sick from it at all! Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveDirections: Ask the people at your hotel where to find them.

crappy picture by Hermanater This is a bar - restaurant on the beach at San Juan del Sur. It was a tidy place with friendly staff and good food. I say this even though while eating one mouthfull tasted funny and I was very ill the next day. The other 3 people I was with really enjoyed their meals. Even though I was sick, I would not hesitate to go back. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: on the beach - San Jaun Del Sur

Banana-rama by epicult The jungle serves up some very tasty treats on this island. Try some of the fresh bananas, coconuts or limes from along the jungle trail or beach. It's common to see fruit harvesters riding through the trails or along the beach with their horses loaded to max. If you choose to endulge in nature's offerings, be sure you're not actually pilfering from someone's garden. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
